Immersive Chinese is powerful. But is it effective?

Immersive Chinese is a series of short, carefully organized lessons.  You are exposed to phrases and sentences (in pinyin, Chinese characters, and clearly spoken audio) that gradually build in complexity.  Occasional brief English explanations keep you oriented.

A large section of beginning lessons is free; subsequent lessons are available through a very low-priced subscription.  There's also a powerful Repetition Training section that allows you to play a stream of audio of the phrases you want to focus on learning.  This allows you to strengthen memory "hands free" such as while driving or doing housework.

It also includes a handy directory of the words you'll learn, in order of when they are introduced.  (This is just the first page.)
And, there are also some pronunciation lessons.
Bottom line: does it work?  I'm not sure yet.  There is no SRS feature built in, so you'll need to use another tool for that.  Carefully designed photos for each new sentence/phrase would help memory retention.  I like Immersive Chinese' 'no-nonsense' layout, carefully designed word introduction sequence, and very low price.  It may be handy as an auxiliary tool.  I will continue to test it.  Let me know how it works for you.
